Service requests
Every private individual must submit to a customs official at the border crossing point or, if customs control is not intended at the border crossing point, an official of the State Border Guard, in writing, a statement of movement of excisable goods and present the excisable goods (tobacco products, including cigarettes, and alcoholic beverages) and information on the amount of fuel in the personal vehicle and mobile fuel tank. Drivers of commercial motor vehicles must also indicate the mileage (odometer) reading at the crossing point, as well as the name and registration number of the holder (owner).
A statement of movement of excise goods must also be submitted at Pebron, Macishan and Caplava crossing points where customs control is not provided.
Notification forms for movement of excisable goods are free of charge at crossing points. Information can be submitted in Latvian, Russian or English.Receipt of services
The official must check on a random basis or in accordance with the information at his or her disposal the conformity of the specified quantity of individual excisable goods with the actual quantity and the veracity of the information provided in the statement of movement of other excisable goods. This shall be ensured by the nearest territorial customs inspection point or border crossing point where no customs control is provided.
